Class Descriptions

Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga is a challenging and flowing form of yoga based on Baron Baptiste’s 11 part Journey Into Power Sequence that heals, detoxifies and electrifies body and mind at their deepest levels. Our classes will challenge  your body, your mind, and deepen and intensify your yoga practice.  The unique blend of yoga traditions and philosophies emphasize the flow of breath while moving with strength and grace from pose to pose, all in a heated environment. Modern yogi and founder of Baptiste Yoga, Baron Baptiste, stresses the principle of adaptation. Both aspiring and advanced yogis, young and old, can modify each posture and create their own individual experience. The result is a yoga practice that rinses and detoxifies the mind and body, while building strength and flexibility on and off the mat.  Prepare to work and to SWEAT! Please bring your own mat and a towel, and come hydrated.  Our classes are suitable for students of all levels— modifications are always available.  Come begin your Journey into Power. 

All Levels Power Vinyasa Yoga:  All Levels Power Vinyasa is our signature Baptiste-inspired Power Vinyasa Yoga class in 75 and 90 minute formats. Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga classes are energizing, challenging and powerful classes that provide a thorough experience of Baptiste Yoga™ highlighting asana, meditation and inquiry. Expect to move, sweat, breathe, and leave transformed! Please bring water and a towel.  This class is suitable for all levels.

Gentle Power: Gentle Power is our signature class in an unheated 60-75 minute format. Get ready to move, be challenged, and have fun! Based on the style of Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga, students flow from pose to pose – utilizing the principles of alignment, personal awareness and breath. This class is unheated and is appropriate for all students- beginners to seasoned practitioners.

Power Yoga Basics: This basics class follows the same sequence as our Power Vinyasa Yoga class, but is designed for students relatively new to yoga or for those wishing to refine their practice w/focus on alignment,  increasing strength and body awareness as well as breathing techniques and explore  a wide variety of standing and seated poses, meditation and relaxation.  The room is heated, but class moves at a slower pace.

Power Yoga Bootcamp: Power Yoga Bootcamp is a powerful combination of exercises using your own body weight to make you stronger, leaner and ready for anything! Combined with Baptiste-inspired power vinyasa, these exercises will get you at the top of your game. Our instructor Heidi Charest is both a RYT-200 and CrossFit coach.  Bring running shoes (in case we meet outside), water and a towel.

Relax and Renew: Relax and renew is a meditative flow with emphasis on opening and restorative poses. Expect deep stretches, hip openers and heart openers. Modifications for all levels available. Come work at your level.

Helpful Hints

  • Bring a mat, towel & water.
  • New students should arrive 15-20 minutes early to register and get settled.
  • Ask questions! The staff and teachers are there to support you.
  • Occasionally the teacher may introduce partner work or pause for a teaching moment to deepen your understanding of the practice. We encourage a willingness to try on something new.
  • Take a Power Yoga Basics Class. If you’re new to yoga or heated yoga, try a basics class offered at both studios. For times, check the schedule.
  • Please turn cell phones off or in the lobby during class.
  • Eat light a few hours prior to class.
  • Hydrate! Drink water before and after class.
  • Have fun!
